The course is named after Harold George “Dad” Miller, who achieved that famous hole-in-one on December 1970 at hole No. 11, measuring 107 yards as a par three. Designed by Richard Miller, H.G. Dad Miller’s son, this course opened its doors in 1961.

Tiger Woods's connection to Dad Miller extends beyond his youth play; he contributed significantly to the community by donating $5 million towards constructing the Tiger Woods Teaching Center at the facility. This center, which operates free of charge for youths aged 8 to 17 for twelve hours each day, emphasizes education in math, language arts, science, tutoring, and character development programs.
